Is Asheville a tourist destination all year long?

There was a time in Asheville that was mostly for locals. The tourists cleared out, and the traffic calmed. It was a hard time for businesses, but perhaps a nicer time for those of us who wanted a reservation last minute on a Saturday night. The article suggests that tourists have found Asheville to be a year-round destination. How can we respond so that we capitalize on the economic boon and still find opportunities for locals to connect with our local businesses?

On the heels of the busiest year of passenger utilization, significant growth at Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) continues. First-quarter 2019 numbers are in, and the airport served an unprecedented number of passengers. Specifically, AVL served 296,571 passengers January through March 2019, a staggering 45% increase over the same period last year.
