Building Resilience Together After Helene

Our city’s landscape—and our hearts—have been deeply impacted by the recent floods. While emergency support from state, local, and federal agencies is underway, Thrive Asheville is mobilizing to address our community's urgent and ongoing needs. Our staff is safe, yet like many residents, they are navigating the challenges of disrupted infrastructure. Despite these hardships, we are back to work, addressing Buncombe County’s most pressing issues and volunteering on the front lines.

Our approach to recovery and resilience centers on sustainability, equity, and community connection. Through assembled working groups, we will continue to bring together diverse perspectives, foster community learning, and develop collaborative solutions. This work supports projects that meaningfully contribute to Buncombe County's recovery, ensuring a strong, resilient future for all.

  • Emergency Housing Response: Thrive is intensifying its efforts to ensure that community members have safe and stable housing.

  • Collaborative Partnerships: We are working closely with city and county agencies and nonprofits to streamline housing placement, provide tenant/landlord support, and advocate for housing recovery policies.

Keep Asheville Local -  Small businesses and cultural enterprises are facing significant challenges due to devastating loss, lack of resources, and reduced tourism traffic.

  • Immediate Interventions: Urgent actions are required to protect these vital elements of our local culture, social and economic life.
